Foundational Authorities and Strategic Directives Governing the Interagency Accord Commission
Executive Authority and Strategic Directive
The authority of the Interagency Accord Commission (IAC) is grounded in its alignment with the Executive Office of the President and its role in supporting the National Security Council. As an interagency coordination initiative, the IAC derives its foundational direction from a National Security Council Implementation Memorandum (NSC-IM), which establishes the Commission’s purpose, scope, and coordination function. The NSC-IM provides the initial policy framework for interagency engagement, outlines leadership and reporting expectations, and signals Executive Branch intent for coordinated action across national security, technology, and strategic planning domains.
